In essence, an independent rider can perform waterstarts, foiling, upwind riding, and transitions confidently. Additionally, they are capable of setting up their equipment and managing themselves safely on the spot, without endangering themselves or others. The rider's skill level matters less than their ability to safely and respectfully utilize the spot.

The Levante is an east wind that comes to us from the Mediterranean. It strengthens as it crosses the Strait of Gibraltar. Predominantly offshore. Generally strong, between 20 and 35 knots.
The Poniente, west wind, cooler and more humid from the ocean. Predominantly onshore. Generally steady, between 12 and 20 knots.
